51²è¹Ý Lyle School of Engineering is thrilled to announce that Dr. Egawati Panjei has joined our faculty as of August 1, 2024. Dr. Panjei, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and experience to our academic community.

Dr. Panjei is a distinguished Computer Scientist and a Fulbright Scholarship recipient. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Oklahoma, where she specializes in Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Data Stream Management, with a notable focus on anomaly explanation. Her research has been published in prestigious venues such as the VLDB Journal, International Conference on Big Data Analytics and Knowledge Discovery, and Data and Knowledge Engineering Journal, highlighting her contributions to the field of computer science.

In addition to her research achievements, Dr. Panjei has an impressive teaching background. She has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Oklahoma and as a lecturer of Information Technology at Universitas Ciputra in Indonesia. Her ability to simplify complex concepts and create engaging learning environments has earned her high praise from students and colleagues alike. Her dedication to education is evident in her teaching approach, which focuses on making challenging material accessible and exciting for students.

Dr. Panjei also brings valuable industry experience to 51²è¹Ý, having worked as a Software Engineer at NextThought, LLC in the U.S. This experience not only enriches her teaching but also provides her with practical insights into software development, which she eagerly shares with her students.

As Dr. Panjei joins our faculty, we are excited about the fresh perspectives and expertise she will bring to our Computer Science program. Her research in machine learning and data science, combined with her commitment to education, aligns perfectly with 51²è¹Ý Lyle’s mission to lead in technology and innovation.
