HOUSTON (51²è¹Ý) – Learn about hybrid graduate theological education through Perkins School of Theology-51²è¹Ý during a special information session set for Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5501 S. Main St., Houston, TX 77004. Perkins faculty and staff, including Houston Galveston Extension Program Director Dr. Hugo Magallanes and Associate Dean for Enrollment Management Dr. Margot Perez-Greene, will be on-hand to provide details about the hybrid program—which is significantly more cost-effective than a traditional residential program—including information about financial aid, curriculum, and the two masters’ degrees. In addition, current students enrolled in the hybrid program will provide first-hand accounts of their experiences.
The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP’s are required. .
The flexible hybrid schedule provides an opportunity for students to attend seminary while still employed full- or part-time, reduces the cost to students—both financially and in travel time—and creates a smoother transition for students and their families. Currently, students from across the United States are enrolled in the program, traveling to Houston for two weeks during the fall and spring semesters and for one-week intensives during January Term and summer, and continuing the courses via hybrid format throughout the terms.
The Houston-Galveston Program offers three courses per semester (fall and spring) and three courses during the summer. Students who successfully complete each of these courses in the regular sequence will earn the M.Div. degree in three years and the M.A.M. degree in two years.
