DALLAS (51²è¹Ý) – Perkins School of Theology announced that Emilie Williams joins the Office of Enrollment Management as a Ministry Discernment Associate effective August 1, 2022.

In her new position, Williams brings significant experience in recruitment and admission and in international partnership initiatives. She earned a Master of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the University of the Ozarks, and completed study abroad in Greek Language and Philosophy at The American College of Greece.

The Rev. Dr. Margot Perez-Greene, Associate Dean of Enrollment Management, noted that the Ministry Discernment Associate position calls for an individual who is a relationship-builder, excels at public speaking, manages a rigorous schedule, has experience with groups of diversity at all levels, and who can respectfully navigate conversations of discernment with prospective students.

“Emilie has met these criteria and more,” said Perez-Greene. “She recognizes Perkins as a school that is preparing leaders of faith for the changing times ahead. She is skilled and adept at cultivating and maintaining relationships with campus interfaith leaders and organizations. She brings a wealth of experience in utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to collaboratively produce recruitment reporting.”

In affirming her qualifications for the position, the Perkins Selection Committee noted the diversity of Williams’ background and experiences. A Dallas native of Syrian descent, she has an adopted brother from Guatemala.  She grew up attending Trinity Presbyterian Church of Southlake, Texas, where she was mentored by Perkins alumni who encouraged her to pursue theological study.

“Emilie is eager to be a part of the Perkins community that is committed to inclusive justice and theological transformation, and we are thrilled to welcome her,” said Perez-Greene.
