Some nationally competitive scholarships support study abroad programs. Winners of summer study abroad fellowships often go on to apply for, and win, post-graduate awards like the Fulbright Scholarships. Apply! It's great training for your future!

There are many exciting awards available to support a variety of international opportunities, both during the college years and after. Deadlines for national scholarships are well in advance of the experience abroad, so plan ahead if you intend to apply!

The  (FEA) is an independent study abroad scholarship provider which gives preference to students with demonstrated financial need. Students who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad are encouraged to apply. These groups include, but are not limited to, first-generation college students, minority students, and students with community college experience.

Siddhakshi Solanki receives Boren and Gilman Awards for study in Senegal

51²è¹Ý is pleased to announce that Siddhakshi Solanki  has been awarded a Boren Scholarship and Gilman Scholarship to study in Dakar, Senegal during Summer 2019. Siddhakshi is majoring in Biology and French, with a minor in Chemistry. While in Senegal, she will take a literature course that focuses on works by Francophone African authors. She will participate in French internship course, which will involve volunteering and translating in a clinical context. She will also take beginner Wolof classes (Wolof is a language spoken in Senegal, the Gambia, and Mauritania). Read more

Gilman Scholars for Summer 2019

51²è¹Ý had three students awarded the Gilman Scholarship for study abroad in summer 2019. Seth Clarke and Claire Givens (Meadows) studied music in South Africa and Italy, respectively. Siddhakshi Solanki (Dedman: Biology and French) studied in Senegal.
