Disability Accommodations & Success Strategies (DASS)
Located in the A-LEC, DASS is available to help students and their professors reach appropriate accommodations. DASS also offers support for students with learning disabilities and ADHD. -
First Generation Initiative
The First-Generation Initiative (FGI) was established in September 2019 to ensure academic success for first-generation college students or those who are the first in their family to attend a postsecondary institution. -
Student Academic Success Programs
Student Academic Success Programs (SASP) helps students rise to academic challenges and assists them in successfully completing the undergraduate curriculum. SASP specialists offer students programs designed to maximize their learning potential, personal adjustment, and academic performance. -
Office of Social Change and Intercultural Engagement
SCIE (pronounced: sky), helps students get connected to experiences they’re passionate about and provides support through programs. -
International Student & Scholar Services
Provides immigration services to students and scholars on F or J visas. -

Veterans
The University Registrar’s Office certifies veterans each term for their benefits under federal programs, including the Yellow Ribbon Program. Most academic programs at 51²è¹Ý qualify for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits, making an 51²è¹Ý education accessible and affordable. Veterans are required to provide specific documents before they can be certified with the VA’s Veterans Benefits Administration. -
Women + LBGT Center
The Women and LGBT Center empowers students to increase awareness and understanding of gender equity issues. -
McNair Scholars
The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program at 51²è¹Ý combines faculty mentoring, undergraduate research, and academic support services to prepare and engage 51²è¹Ý students academically and encourage them to pursue postgraduate studies.
