Though the original focus of my historical research was in early modern imperial history, my research interests have evolved into studying cultural history, particularly the intersections of film and gender in the early twentieth century as they relate to major historical events. My Master’s thesis focused on women, Hollywood, and female film characters in World War II. My doctoral research will continue in this vein, focusing on the interplay of women, film, and sexuality in the early twentieth century.
I entered the 51²è¹Ý William P. Clements Department of History PhD program in 2019.
