Professor Hiltz has explored Wittgensteinian and pragmatist themes subversive of traditional metaphysics of meaning, and has interests in political philosophy and several issues in the philosophy of mind. He currently struggles vainly against the charms of quietism, and restricts his energies to making life hard for those with an actual research program. He has recently received a Maguire Center grant to develop a new course: Corporate Culture, Individual Integrity, and the Social Contract.
