Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Ph.D. program in Data Science, students must have an undergraduate or master’s degree in an engineering or mathematical field. The GRE is optional.
Students whose degrees are not in an engineering or mathematics field may qualify for admission if they have completed
- Three semesters of calculus (through multivariate calculus)
- One semester each of linear algebra and computer programming (or equivalent experience)
International students applying from countries where English is not the native language are required to provide scores on the TOEFL English language proficiency test. This requirement is waived for a student who has earned an undergraduate degree from an English-language institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
Students who lack some of the admissions requirements may be considered for admission pending completion coursework, either prior to matriculation or through approved short courses (e.g., a programming bootcamp)
Deadline for application for the fall semester: January 15.
