For 51²è¹Ý Students & Scholars:
Students whose first language is not English may encounter special challenges as they strive to function efficiently and succeed in less familiar cultural and academic settings. Dedman College offers various types of ESL supports to students from all schools and departments of 51²è¹Ý for their academic success and engagement. These resources focus on grammar, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills, as well as explore American culture, customs, attitudes, and idiomatic use of English.
Not an 51²è¹Ý student? We can still help.
For Non-51²è¹Ý Students:
The Intensive English Program (IEP) - A multi-level year-round program to prepare non-native English speaking students, both international or domestic, for successful achievement of their goals in academic or professional settings. This program serves as a great bridge for students to fulfill the university language requirement for admission without an official English test score.
