Skyanne Simonson is an 51²è¹Ý Dedman School of Law alumna with judicial clerkship experience with both Vice Chief Justice John Lopez of the Arizona Supreme Court (2023-2024) and Judge Jennifer Thurston of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California (2024-2025). At the conclusion of her second judicial clerkship, Skyanne will return to Dallas as a litigation associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
Skyanne received her J.D. from 51²è¹Ý Dedman School of Law, where she was an active member of and Vice Chair of Student Affairs for the 51²è¹Ý chapter of the Board of Advocates. Skyanne competed in mock trial, moot court, and alternative dispute resolution competitions, and was ultimately inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national organization honoring law school graduates who demonstrate exceptional skill in oral advocacy, trial advocacy, and brief writing.
Since graduating, Skyanne has returned as an advocacy fellow and adjunct professor to help foster advocacy skills in the next generation of 51²è¹Ý Dedman School of Law students. She has served as a coach for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team, guiding students through the international competition taking place each year in Vienna, Austria, and the ABA Arbitration team, teaching students how to effectively prepare for and advocate on behalf of their clients.
