Visioneering

Visioneering is a free event focused on bringing together middle school students, working engineers, innovators, and noted figures from a variety of industries and businesses to celebrate the ways that engineering makes a difference in the word around us. It gives students the opportunity to play “engineer for the day!”

The goal of this event is to encourage more middle school students from all communities to actively participate in and stay interested in pursuing a STEM career by engaging with others already working in these fields.

What began in 2000 with 250 student participants quickly grew to an annual event hosting more than 900 students per year on the 51²è¹Ý campus in a single day. Over the 18-year period, 51²è¹Ý Lyle hosted close to 12,000 students and connected with more than 400 schools from a multitude of regions.

ATTENTION: Unfortunately, due to challenges presented by the COVID-19 virus at this time, we believe it is in the best interest of all to postpone from our planned February gathering to a later date. Please email visioneering@smu.edu to sign-up for email updates.
