How to Apply

To enter the Arts Management M.A./M.B.A. program, you must be admitted to both the Meadows School of the Arts and the Cox School of Business. Central to a successful career in arts management is a strong personal commitment to the development, production, presentation and sustenance of high quality art. In addition, you should demonstrate strong academic capabilities; leadership potential and interpersonal and communication skills; and personal qualities such as maturity, integrity, self-confidence and motivation. Greater preference will be given to those applicants with post-undergraduate professional experience, although professional experience is not required.

Application Deadlines

Professional Résumé: You should submit a professional résumé that addresses your professional history as well as your educational and career interests.

Essays: Three essays are required. The essays require you to respond to specific questions. Please see the for more details.

References: Contact information for two professional references who are able to evaluate your professional performance as well as your capability to pursue the joint-degree in arts administration and business is required. At least one of your contacts should be from your current or most recent supervisor. .

Transcripts: Transcripts from all institutions, including degree verification, are required and will be used to evaluate your file for admission. If your academic transcripts are not in English, you must submit a notarized, official English translation.

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE): All applicants are required to take the GMAT or GRE. We encourage you to fax your unofficial score report to us at (214) 768-3956 immediately after taking the GMAT or GRE to expedite your application processing. Scores are valid for five years from the month of completion. Visit the for more information.

TOEFL (international students only): All international applicants (non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents) whose native language is not English are required to complete the TOEFL. The TOEFL may be waived for international applicants who hold degrees from English-speaking countries only. Please submit a written request via mail or e-mail. .

Admission Interviews and Campus Visit: Interviews are conducted by invitation only after a completed application is reviewed by the M.A./M.B.A. Admissions Committee. In-person interviews are strongly recommended. The Meadows School of the Arts and the Cox School of Business work closely together in scheduling admission interviews. You are invited to visit classes, meet with students, and tour campus on the day of your interview. You will interview with representatives of both the Meadows School and the Cox School.
