Michelle Glasby-Millington
Michelle Glasby-Millington holds an M.F.A. in Film Production from Howard University. She comes to 51²è¹Ý’s Division of Film & Media Arts after teaching screenwriting and film studies for nine years at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill, on the Caribbean island of Barbados. While at UWI, Michelle wrote two dramatic series pilot scripts: My Louisiana Blues and Sou-Sou; a feature-length screenplay, Love Is Revolution; wrote and published an acclaimed children’s picture book, Eleggua: A Lucumí Legend and taught workshops to established and aspiring filmmakers throughout the United States and the Caribbean region.
Glasby-Millington’s creative work centers on women, stories of the African diaspora, her native South Louisiana, migrants and historical events. Her feature-length screenplay Hurricane Summer was the first runner-up in the ABC/Disney Screenwriting Fellowship Competition in 2005. In 2017, Glasby-Millington co-produced the film Zora’s Dream with Barbadian filmmaker Andrew Millington. An accomplished dancer, she is also very interested in storytelling through movement, particularly through dance films, dance for camera and sports films.
The ViacomCBS networks of Comedy Central and Nickelodeon is where Glasby-Millington began her media career. There, she worked as a promotions marketer, managing major film, television and off-channel campaigns, supporting iconic brands such as: South Park, Rugrats, Dora The Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants.

Recent Work
Currently, Michelle is adapting her children’s book, Eleggua: A Lucumí Legend, into a screenplay with the intent of producing it as a short, animated film.
