Gilbert Lecture Series presents lecture on environmental literature and criticism
Houser is the author of "Ecosickness in Contemporary U.S. Fiction: Environment and Affect" (Columbia UP, 2014), which won the 2015 Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present (ASAP) Book Prize and was shortlisted for the 2014 British Society for Literature and Science (BSLS) Book Prize.

Heather Houser, an associate professor of English at the University of Texas at Austin, is author of Ecosickness in Contemporary U.S. Fiction: Environment and Affect , 2014), which won the 2015 (ASAP) Book Prize and was shortlisted for the 2014 (BSLS) Book Prize.
Houser's presentation, hosted by 51²è¹Ý's Department of English, is free and open to the public on Thursday, Feb. 23, in McCord Auditorium in Dallas Hall. There is a reception at 6 p.m. and lecture at 6:30 p.m.
Houser holds affiliations with American Studies, the Center for Women's and Gender Studies, and the Environmental Science Institute. .
