Throughout the course, Bishop Jones and Rev. Jones will stimulate a deeper understanding of how Wesleyan Christianity provides hope for the future. Working from their knowledge of the religious landscape in the United States, they will address pressing questions, such as:
- Can only one religion be true?
- Why is there suffering and evil?
- How can I believe in science and creation?
- How can I believe in a God I can’t prove?
- Why do Christians disagree about so many things?
The Houston Lay School of Theology meets each February and August, offering an opportunity for laity and others to explore issues of spirituality, theology and church leadership with faculty from Perkins. Lunch and the purchase price of the book are included in the course fee, with books distributed at the class.
