About Professor Ware
Professor Paige Ware became Associate Provost for Faculty Success at 51²è¹Ý in July 2020. In this position, she manages faculty recruitment and hiring, assists the Office of the Provost in administering faculty tenure and promotion, supports the implementation of strategic initiatives for faculty success, organizes general faculty events, provides orientation for new faculty, and facilitates communications among department chairs and associate deans. Several key recent initiatives include the following: a five-year university-wide project to augment efforts for increasing transparency and equity in faculty in-load, a three-year project to revise faculty search and recruitment processes, a university-wide effort to support the development of promotion guidelines for career teaching faculty, and the development of new faculty programs such as The Springboard, a year-long support structure using the National Council of Faculty Development and Diversity webinar series.
Dr. Paige Ware is a Professor in the Department of Teaching & Learning at 51²è¹Ý. Prior to earning her doctorate in Education, Language, Literacy, and Culture at the University of California at Berkeley, she was an English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL) instructor in Germany and Spain.
Her research has been funded by a National Academy of Education/Spencer Post-Doctoral Fellowship, the International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF), the U.S. Department of Education Office of English Language Acquisition, the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation, and the Ford Scholars program at 51²è¹Ý. Her work examines digital technologies in secondary school and technology-based approaches for promoting intercultural awareness through international and domestic partnerships.
At 51²è¹Ý, she has served in the Simmons School of Education and Human Development in a variety of roles: Director of the Doctoral Program, Chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning, interim Dean, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. She has also received the 51²è¹Ý Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Award and the 51²è¹Ý Distinguished University Citizen Award.
