About
Jana Jones has been teaching in Texas public schools for 14 years. Her experience includes teaching 4th grade, instruction in dyslexia remediation, and reading to K-8th and private instruction to individuals with dyslexia and related disorders. She also serves as the 504/Assistant Dyslexia Coordinator for the Greenville Independent School District and is a frequent presenter for local in-service programs and for events at the local, state, and national levels.
Jana currently serves as Coordinator for the Learning Therapist Certificate Program at 51²è¹Ý-in-Plano. In this role, she teaches graduate-level courses and serves as an advisor to students working on clinical teaching requirements. Additionally, Jana is a Consultant for the Academic Enhancement Workshops and has been instrumental in writing curriculum for many of the AEW classes.
Jana earned her B. S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with Reading Specialization from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. She continued her studies to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist and completed the requirements of both the Academic Language Therapy Association and 51²è¹Ý’s Certificate of Advanced Studies to become an Academic Language Therapy Qualified Instructor. She also earned her M. L. A. from 51²è¹Ý.
Professional Memberships include: Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), for whom she has served several terms on the Board of Directors; and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA)– Dallas Branch.
