What can students expect from the PhD Program?

The PhD program includes core coursework in research design and statistics within the Doctor of Philosophy in Education program as well as area-specific coursework that incorporates basic and clinical science approaches based on faculty expertise and hands-on learning in the laboratory setting. Students interested in the program are strongly encouraged to establish their research interests and program goals with Dr. Scott Davis before submitting an application. The primary program requirement is successful completion of a journal style dissertation that includes a minimum of three manuscripts that have been accepted and/or submitted for publication. Prior to successful completion of a dissertation, students must pass written and oral qualifying exams.
