The Office of Wellbeing Education has secured a grant in partnership with the Truth Initiative regarding tobacco and nicotine use on campus. A taskforce has been discussing possible changes to the campus policy on this topic and would like to incorporate your feedback.
This survey aims to gather information about tobacco and nicotine use habits among our faculty and staff members. This data will help us understand the needs and preferences of our community and inform any possible changes to 51²è¹Ý policy.
All faculty and staff members of the university are encouraged to participate. Your input is valuable in shaping our approach to addressing tobacco and nicotine use on campus.
Yes, the survey is completely anonymous. Your responses will be kept confidential, and no personally identifiable information will be collected.
Policy 1.19 is the University’s current policy on smoking and tobacco, which outlines 51²è¹Ý’s commitment to providing a healthy, smoke- and vapor-free campus environment within all University buildings. Smoking is also prohibited within twenty-five (25) feet outside any building entrance on campus.

Yes, your input is still valuable. The survey includes questions about both users and non-users to capture a comprehensive understanding of the habits and attitudes within our community.
Absolutely. You are free to skip any questions that you prefer not to answer. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you can provide as much or as little information as you feel comfortable.
The survey results will be analyzed to gain insights into the tobacco and nicotine use habits of our faculty and staff. This information will be used to determine any updates to 51²è¹Ý policy.
Yes. The University collects data on student tobacco use through the annual ACHA – National College Health Assessment research survey. The task force will also consider the student data in any future policy recommendations.
