A Chat with Marketing Professor Radhika Zaveri!

My personal purpose is to, “inspire diversity of thought in students so that they can lead a life that impacts others.”

Whether I am teaching the graduate program (MBA) for courses like Advanced Brand Management and New Product Innovation or Fundamentals of Marketing in the Undergraduate program, I believe in promoting diversity of thinking in our future leaders.

After many decades in Corporate America, I learned that the essence of leadership is not about telling someone what to think, but rather enabling others in how to think. As an educator, I bridge knowledge to application and enable thought diversity by developing custom case challenges with companies like Toyota, Dr. Pepper, NTT Data to help foster student-company relationships – this is a big part of the overall college experience.

Our students are our greatest asset at Cox, yearning to shape both their present and future. Intellectually curious for real world experiences; seeking it from professors – and each one of our educators spends countless hours to meet students where they are. So, I decided to augment the in-class curriculum by bringing C-Suite perspectives to students through ; stories of purpose and innovative thinking which is much needed in our fast-evolving business landscape.

In fact, one of my students got his first job through a podcast guest, and that’s the advice I have for business students - take every opportunity to build relationships (with faculty and corporations) to build a growth mindset and a network.

My students tell me that spending time with Cox’s world class faculty outside the classroom has been one of their favorite parts of their Mustang experience.

Thank you, Professor Zaveri, for supporting our 51²è¹Ý Cox students! The story of the connections created through your podcast project are especially inspiring.
