Legends Award
The PwC Doak Walker Legends Award was created in 1998 as a tribute to former 51²è¹Ý All-American and 1948 Heisman Trophy winner Doak Walker.
The Award recognizes an individual whose extraordinary collegiate football career has been bolstered by an exemplary record of leadership in the community. Candidates are nominated by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, and the recipient is selected by the Athletic Forum Board of Directors.
Selection Criteria
- Candidate played collegiate football at an NCAA institution after 1945 (the first year Doak Walker played collegiately) and at least 20 years before January 2 of the year the Award is to be presented.
- Candidate played predominantly at the running back position and made extraordinary contributions to his team during his football career.
- Candidate exhibited the characteristics of sportsmanship and fair play associated with Doak Walker.
- Candidate continues to demonstrate a record of leadership in the community and continues to hold a record of good citizenship within and beyond the athletic sphere.
