Classes that begin 30 minutes (or less) after the indicated "time of class", will have their final exam scheduled in the earliest matching time block.
Example #1: If your class begins at 8:30 AM on TTH, you would follow the final exam schedule for the 8:00 AM TTH class time.
Example #2: If your class begins at 1:30 PM MWF, you would follow the final exam schedule for the 1:00 PM MWF class time.
For classes that span multiple hours on a single day of the week, exams are scheduled based on the day of the week the class meets and the traditional schedule blocks that are encompassed. For classes the span multiple hours on multiple days of the week, exams are scheduled based on the earliest traditional schedule block the class time encompasses. This ensures that sections that span multiple time blocks do not have exam conflicts with similar sections that meet on alternate days of the week.
Example #1:
Class meets Monday 8am – 11am: Exam follows MWF 8am exam schedule
Class meets Wednesday 8am – 11am: Exam follows MWF 9am exam schedule
Class meets Friday 8am – 11am: Exam follows MWF 10am exam schedule
Example #2:
Class meets Monday 2pm – 5pm: Exam follows MWF 2pm exam schedule
Class meets Wednesday 2pm – 5pm: Exam follows MWF 3pm exam schedule
Class meets Friday 2pm – 5pm: Exam follows MWF 4pm exam schedule
Example #3:
Class meets Tuesday 8am – 11am: Exam follows TR 8am exam schedule
Class meets Thursday 8am – 11am: Exam follows TR 9:30am exam schedule
Example #4:
Class meets Monday and Wednesday 3pm - 5:50pm: Exams follows MWF 3pm exam schedule
Class meets Tuesday and Thursday 2pm - 4:50pm: Exam follows TR 2pm exam schedule
For classes that meet on a single day of the week for fewer than three hours, exams will be scheduled in consultation with course instructors in a manner to best avoid conflicts. Please confirm exam time information with the course instructor.
Example
Class meets Monday from 10am - 10:50am: Exam follows MWF 10am exam schedule.
Class meets Wednesday from 10am - 10:50am: Exam schedule is TBD.
Class meets Friday from 10am - 10:50am: Exam schedule is TBD.
Classes Not Covered Above - Final examination will be scheduled by the University Registrar and announced by the course instructor.

No class final examinations may be scheduled at a different time from that specified in the official examination schedule. Exceptions to the examination schedule may be made only upon written recommendation of the chair of the department sponsoring the course and with the concurrence of the dean of that school, who will allow exceptions only in accordance with guidelines from the Office of the Provost.
Note: 51²è¹Ý does not have a policy limiting the number of final examinations an undergraduate student has on one day. It is rare for students to have more than two final examinations on the same day. However, students with 3 or 4 final examinations on the same day may ask the course instructors for an alternate final examination time. Course instructors are under no obligation to reschedule a final examination for a student.
