VITA Training Sessions

 

There are VITA training sessions (in-person, hybrid, and virtual) offered by the Dallas Community Tax Centers (DCT).  You may study on your own, which most law students do, or attend one of the DCT VITA training sessions. Either way you will receive a maximum of 8 hours for the VITA training and taking the 3 tests. The Advanced Test is the difficult test and what the training sessions usually cover.

In order to sign up for the in-person or virtual training sessions, law students will need to create an IRS VITA account and complete the 2 short tests: Volunteer Standards of Conduct; and Intake/Interview and Quality Review.  Website:

2024-2025 New Volunteer Tax Preparation Advanced Certification training: 

    The first portion of the training (if you select it) will be the Fundamental tax law, which will be virtual and self-paced.

     The second portion of the training will be a 1 day course that will be in person.  Dates and times to be determined.
