Marshall Scholarship

Created in 1953 to provide future U.S. leaders with a deep understanding of British society and culture, the Marshall Scholarship funds up to two years of graduate study at any university in the United Kingdom in most fields.  Marshall selection committees review applicants based on their academic merit, leadership ability, and potential to strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.  Up to fifty scholarships are offered each year.

The award covers university tuition and fees, living expenses, transportation to and from the United States, and provides research and thesis grants.

Three 51²è¹Ý students have won the Marshall Scholarship: , , and Rebekah Hurt.

In order to participate in the campus nomination process, all applicants must submit their completed applications by the 51²è¹Ý deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

  • U.S. citizen
  • Have graduated from first undergraduate college or university after April 2021
  • Have not studied for or hold a degree from a UK university
  • Minimum GPA: 3.7
