Mitchell Thornton is knowledgeable about hackers, internet security, digital systems design and analysis, computer architecture, computer systems security, embedded systems, quantum computing and signal processing algorithms.
Thornton currently holds the Cecil H. Green Chair of Engineering and is a professor at 51²è¹Ý with appointments in both the Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering departments. He also serves as the associate director and as the technical director at the Darwin Deason Institute for Cyber Security at 51²è¹Ý.
