You can apply as a first-year student if you have not completed college-level courses at an accredited college or university. You can apply as a transfer student if you have completed college-level courses.
Transfer students must have completed a college-level math course if it has been more than three years since high school graduation.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides education benefits to eligible service members, veterans, and their dependents or survivors. The 51²è¹Ý Registrar’s Office certifies enrollment and assists 51²è¹Ý students using their VA education benefits. Most academic programs at 51²è¹Ý qualify for VA education benefits, making an 51²è¹Ý education accessible and affordable.

Texas’ Hazelwood benefit cannot be used at 51²è¹Ý as it is only offered through public institutions.

Learn MoreIf you were called to active-duty service and left 51²è¹Ý in good academic standing, your file will remain active for one year. While you may register in continuous enrollment at the University, all holds must be cleared prior to enrollment.
If your service period lasted longer than two regular terms (fall, spring), you are required to apply for reactivation.
When you are ready to return to 51²è¹Ý, please notify the appropriate University departments as soon as possible. This helps to ensure timely processing of enrollment, financial aid, housing and other documents.
