Klaus Desmet is the Altshuler Centennial Professor of Cities, Regions and Globalization at 51²è¹Ý. Klaus holds an MSc in Management and Engineering from the Université catholique de Louvain and a PhD in Economics from Stanford University. His research focuses on regional economics, international trade, economic growth and diversity.
Elira Kuka is a new Assistant Professor of Economics at 51²è¹Ý. She obtained a BA degree in Economics from Wellesley College (MA), and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Davis. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Public Finance, Labor Economics, Health Economics, and the Economics of Education.
