Tanya Watson, Co-Founder of Squanchtendo, to address graduating students
DALLAS (51²è¹Ý) — 51²è¹Ý Guildhall will host its bi-annual graduate Exhibition showcasing video games developed by graduating students on Friday, May 19, 2017. The Exhibition will honor Cohort 25, which is composed of graduate students specializing in Art, Design, Production, and Programming.
The Exhibition will take place in Building 2 of the 51²è¹Ý-in-Plano campus, which is located at 5232 Tennyson Parkway. All of the following events are open to the public:
An invitation-only reception for Cohort 25 will conclude the day’s events, featuring Tanya Watson, Co-Founder of Squanchtendo, as the honorary keynote speaker.
Tanya Watson is well known for her work as a former Epic Games Executive Producer. She is now on to new endeavors at her own VR company, Squanchtendo, which she founded alongside Rick and Morty Co-Creator, Justin Roiland. The company brings together Roiland’s comedy prowess with Watson’s significant experience in game development. Watson’s video game career began in 2003 when she served as a tester in the RPG group at Microsoft. She then parlayed into production at Epic Games after working as a test-lead on Gears of War. Over the next ten years there, she worked her way up from Associate Producer to Executive Producer on Unreal Tournament 3, Gears 2 & 3, Bulletstorm, and Fortnite.

51²è¹Ý Guildhall is the in the world. Many of the school’s founders are industry icons, and classes are taught by industry veterans. Since 2003, the program has graduated over 700 students, who now work at more than 250 video game studios around the world. 51²è¹Ý Guildhall offers both a Master of Interactive Technology in Digital Game Development degree and a Professional Certificate of Interactive Technology in Digital Game Development, with specializations in Art, Design, Production, and Programming.
