Fostering diversity to prepare for a globalized industry

An important part of the student experience is providing ample opportunities to work not just with diverse team structures, but with diverse people. Our student body has represented 25 countries and 49 U.S. states plus D.C, and over half of our current student enrollment is international. We are a Women in STEM advocate and a hub of diverse educational backgrounds, bringing together students from a wide range of undergraduate degrees and majors including computer science, fine art, business, psychology, communication, and more.

This diversity allows our program to foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes a wide range of perspectives, enriches the collaborative experience in team-based projects, and prepares students for working in globalized industry environments.

Student Activities

Through our Student Activity Committee (SAC), our internal student organization that plans and sponsors student activities, we foster fun and community across our Guildhall student body. Activities have often included virtual and board game nights, potlucks, happy hours, welcome activities for new students, and more. Students volunteer for the committee, and leaders are elected.

Apart from SAC-sponsored events, students enjoy socializing in Ford Hall's Cafe and lounge spaces, playing video and board games and solving puzzles together, making momentos, and sharing bits of culture like sampling cuisine from their home country. We keep some of our memories in a trophy case in Ford Hall, collecting and displaying keepsakes from student experiences, events, awards, alumni gifts, and more. We love to encourage this rich, connected experience.

Though 51²è¹Ý Guildhall's GameLab, you can also enjoy extracurricular social events such as visits to local game studios and networking happy hours with alumni and local developers, as well as special lunchtime speaking presentations that are co-hosted between our GameLab and Career Services departments.
