Connections to general use linux servers (genuse) are done using an SSH (secure shell) client. Files are transferred using an SCP (Secure Copy) client Windows, macOS, and Linux computers have ssh and scp built-in. Below are some tutorials to help getting started with genuse.

Please note: Windows clients putty(ssh) and WinSCP(scp) are illustrated for example, but most ssh/scp clients should work.

On-Campus or VPN Required

All Genuse servers have been upgraded to a new operating system with a revised security policy. They are only accessible from on-campus or via VPN connections. Direct connections from the Internet are no longer available.
