Lisa Miller
Director, Office of Student Success and Retention (SSR)
Pronouns: she/her
Lisa Miller has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Lisa served in Dedman College before joining Student Success and Retention in 2024. Before her time at 51²è¹Ý, Lisa worked professionally in operations at the New York University, the University of Central Florida and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
“Keeping the lines of communication open, identifying and understanding others’ opinions, and working closely with different offices on behalf of students creates successful graduates and contributing members of society. 51²è¹Ý is one of those special places where this philosophy really works–everyone is committed to our students to obtain their very best outcomes possible.”

Shun received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of North Texas and M.A. in Counseling from Prairie View University.
As the Assistant Director of Student Success and Retention, what excites me the most about my position is getting the opportunity to inspire, learn and grow with the students at 51²è¹Ý!I hope to make a positive difference with the students on the 51²è¹Ý campus by demonstrating excellence, integrity, kindness and inclusion. What makes 51²è¹Ý special to my position is having the opportunity to connect with the amazing staff and students.

Jay is a proud native of Carencro, LA. He received his BA in History from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University. He is pursuing his Doctor of Education in Higher Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce. As a Success Counselor, Jay supports 51²è¹Ý students through their Academic careers by supporting them with their academic and professional development.
